Session 028, 01 JUN 2025

When we last left off:   The Detachment was in Słomniki. At 0729 26 JUL 2000 SFC Diaz came on the net and reported vehicles at approximately 150 M distance approaching at speed from the SW. SGT Swain and a work party at a ruined church made haste West to reinforce the de-facto Command Post of the vehicles behind the Gas Station/Bar Cafe/Store while 1SG Keller, 1st Lt. Scott, SPC Jaques and Jan made haste to their South to converge at the same location.

Two Pickup trucks with armed men and mounted PKMs entered the adjacent rail depot to the South of the Gas Station.  The Detachment maneuvered to favorable sighting locations and firing lanes in and around the Command Post. No shots were fired as the occupants of the vehicles spotted the Detachment’s activities at approximately 30 Meters distance and broke visual contact.

After 5 minutes, a white sheet started to become visible above an abandoned train car.  1st Lt. Scott began to approach slowly with empty hands displayed and no weapon.  A man appeared “Kel” and after negotiations between the Detachment via Jan the band, led by a man named “Igorek” a bargain was struck trading 25 rations for 105 L of Methanol, and a further trade was offered for medical assistance by the Detachment of two members of Igorek’s band.  Six of Igorek’s men departed in one vehicle and there is a truce area behind the gas station of equal numbers of the Detachment and Igorek’s band.  Session end 0804Z on 26 JUL 2000.
